Recognition over Resilience
Free · no diagnosis needed · start here

You’ve been told to toughen up for decades.
Better Being Me starts somewhere else.
Recognition. When you understand how your brain — and the brains around you — actually work, life stops being a fight with yourself. Everything at Better Being Me moves through the same three steps:
Be supported by someone who understands
Grief of diagnosis
Whether the diagnosis is yours or your child’s, there is a grieving process — and that’s okay. There is support to help you accept and embrace the neurodivergent brain.
…so you can stop carrying it alone.
Living in burnout
It takes a lot of energy to get through the day-to-day demands of the world and other people. Missing the cues, heading into meltdown, living in a constant state of recovery.
…so you can stop living in recovery mode.
Fear of isolation
It can feel like no one else could possibly understand. At Better Being Me we get why you want to stim, and why it feels like a rock monkey in your head.
…so you don’t have to do this alone.
You can be understood.
Maybe for the first time.
You can feel safe sharing your inner world. There are three ways in — start wherever fits.

Family therapy for neurodiverse families
Individuals, families and groups — all ages, Australia-wide by telehealth, in person in McLaren Vale. Formal diagnosis isn’t required.
Self-identified is valid.

How it all fits together
The BBMe Method holds the middle. Every way in — quiz, programs, therapy — is a depth of the same framework, from the inside out.
We know how it feels to be misunderstood.
To be shushed. To be laughed over and left confused. To smile and nod just to get through. At Better Being Me there is lived experience, education and understanding.
My son was diagnosed autistic at four. Through his diagnosis, neurodivergence became my special interest — and mapping his world led me to map my own history of meltdown and burnout. My neurodivergence isn’t something to hide. It’s something to embrace.
Better Being Me helps neurodivergent people map their stress behaviour, promotes their awesome, and creates stronger connections with self, family and friends.
Questions, answered straight
Do I need a formal diagnosis?
No. Self-identified is valid. A formal diagnosis is one step you can take — but if you feel aligned, that’s enough to start.
Do I need to be an NDIS participant?
No. Private, plan-managed and self-managed clients are all welcome. Mental Health Care Plans aren’t accepted. Full funding detail lives on the therapy page.
I’m not in South Australia — can we still work together?
Yes. Therapy runs Australia-wide by telehealth, and the programs are fully online. Home and community visits are available around McLaren Vale.
What happens after I take the quiz?
You get a personalised result straight away, with a clear next step matched to where you are — no call required.
What’s the difference between therapy and the programs?
Therapy is 1:1 clinical work with your family and me. The programs are structured self-paced or cohort experiences for late-identified women. Recognition over Resilience runs through both.
